My name is Sharon Chen; I'm an outgoing, hardworking, highly energetic Taiwanese American Community Influencer, Leader & Activist, Private Military Contractor, and Mandarin Chinese Speaking Private Tutor.
I’m a domestic violence survivor, religious trauma survivor, social and racial justice activist, secular humanist, atheist, agnostic, freethinker, non-believer, and non-religious. My prior work experience includes the North Carolina Symphony, Lenovo United States, and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences.
My passions/strengths include professional networking, social media marketing, event planning, business development, communication, leadership, writing/editing, and team building. I'm highly experienced at connecting people and providing promotion and publicity for businesses and events.
I'm a native North Carolinian. I was born and raised in Charlotte and have lived in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill since 2003. I'm a proud Tar Heel; I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in Sociology.
I'm known for my values and strength of character: ethics, integrity, perseverance, resilience, and tenacity. Brimming with confidence, commitment to excellence, fervent drive to succeed, innovative thinking, and positive, can-do, go-getter attitude. I'm highly motivated to learn as much as possible and communicate in a way that influences people's behavior and meets their business needs.
Well-connected politically and socially including CEOs, VPs, C-Suite executives, elected government officials, directors, leadership, management, business owners, entrepreneurs, physicians, attorneys, engineers, sales & marketing, real estate brokers, creatives, musicians, artists, innovators, and other powerful community leaders at local, state, and federal government levels, United States Department of Defense (DoD), United States Armed Forces, Fortune 500 companies, and nonprofits in the Triangle, North Carolina, US, Taiwan, China, and elsewhere around the world.
I'm a multicultural individual with a global mindset. I love meeting new people and giving back to the community. I spend a lot of my free time performing charity work, volunteering at UNC-Chapel Hill, promoting small business owners, and helping politicians and elected government officials at local, state, and federal levels of government.
I highly value community engagement and diversity/inclusion and enjoy cultural arts such as traveling, learning about different languages and cultures, attending plays/theater and comedy shows, visiting museums, and going to concerts. I'm physically active, love adventure, and being outdoors including ziplining and hiking. I absolutely live life to the fullest.
The causes I hold closest to my heart are ending poverty, ending domestic violence, and promoting mental health advocacy and research. I'm passionate about living a meaningful, purposeful life with positive growth. Most importantly, I love inspiring others, paying it forward, and having a positive impact on the community.
